BEDA #3: Ukuleles on the Green

I’m feeling rather literary today, so this post about a staged Ukulele session on CHIJMES Green is going to flow into some kind of a picture-poetry form.

Ukuleles on the Green

The smoky breeze of spice and citrus
Weaves through holiday strings
As we all sat, pinpricks shielded
We knew the words, they came willingly
They sounded like you, like you

Among barbecue grills and baking scents
Coloured rays faded the spectrum throughout
International surroundings, Oz, Espanol, Italia,
Scattered voices, united under familiar sound
They sounded like you, like you.

Tantalising sweetness and aged wine
While the gradient of cobalt creeps up
Its eagerness beckons, an orchestra pleasant
From the background, the notes sang
And they sounded like you, like you.

Hope you guys enjoyed it! Many thanks to the Ukulele Movement for organizing such an awesome event for us!
